Goldfields well-represented at International Science Fair.

The Goldfields is well-represented at this year’s prestigious International Science Fair, with five talented learners set to showcase their innovative projects at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Kempton Park, from 6-10 October 2025. They are Calista Gerber and Fatima Noord (Welkom-Gimnasium), Leila Erasmus (Welkom Volkskool) Mphe Moloto (St Andrew's School, Welkom) and Tshoanelo Setai (Eldoret Secondary School, Odendaalsrus). According to a media statement from ESKOM, they will join 303 peers from 35 regions across South Africa, along with 16 international participants from countries including Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mexico, Ireland, India, and Russia. In addition to the in-person participants, seven students from Ghana and Mozambique will take part virtually, further expanding the reach and inclusivity of this global event.
