October 7, 2025Nobilis School in Virginia, a beacon for learners with special educational needs since 1978, recently hosted the 2025 Eisteddfod - a vibrant showcase of art, culture, and talent involving learners from 14 LSEN schools. The Eisteddfod, a tradition revived in 2021 by Freddie Heyns, principal, was born from a vision to give special needs learners a stage to shine. “They needed a platform where their creativity could be celebrated,” he explained. Learners performed in singing, poetry, dance, drama, and music. “Every child walked away a winner. From bronze to gold, the awards reflected their hard work and creativity.”Nobilis learners earned an impressive number of silver and gold awards. The event underscored Nobilis’s belief that every learner has a gift. “We teach them that their talents are blessings, and using those gifts to uplift others is the greatest reward.”
